Deft, aka Yip Wong, is back with an exciting new EP to be released on Space Hardware Recordings. The four-tracker follows up from releases on Hypercolour, Losing Suki and Glass Table.
Check out the EP, the lead track 'Let's Hook Up' features vocals from Om'mas Keith, one third of Sa-Ra, over some gorgeous bubbling synths and cosmic hip hop beats. On the other tracks Lucid/Overline and Loqux & Past, Deft welds crafted beats and moody bass with smooth vocal snips to round-off a typically warm and fascinating EP.
Beautifully warped and carefully constructed chaos from one of the finest out there. Glitchy, seriously dubby, crunchy fat snares and shattering synths..fuses with dub reggae, dancehall, hiphop, dnb and dubstep with ease...take a bow Alix Perez alastair marriott / DjSquirrel
It's extremely difficult to pick a favourite song here as everything is brilliant. I adore your work more when I'm drinking wine, if that means anything to the denotating of meaning or how one experiences through a medium, such as this. I again, do feel more insistent on becoming more philosophic with your work as it brings up powerful, "god-like"(?) notions of feelings and biological processes.
I intend to fly when l listen to your music.
That baseball bat-beat on 2 LATE is incredible. Daniel Brown
